ALICIA KEY'S HEARTWARMING PERFORMANCE WITH SON AT IHEART RADIO MUSIC AWARDS 2019

JUST INCASE YOU MISSED IT... Watch it now! The music legend, Alicia Keys performs with her 8-year-old son, Egypt at the IHeart Radio Music Awards 2019.

What I love about Alicia Keys is how she continues to embrace her individuality and raise the bar for men and women alike. She recently debuted her new song, "Raise a Man, which was a 6-minute love letter written to her husband."

Alicia Keys graciously accepted the iHeart Radio, INNOVATOR AWARD for 2019 with "an inspiring speech about self-love and overcoming doubts." Her speech was relatable and stirring, as she touched upon the early days of her career when no-one wanted to take a chance on her.

Alicia says, "...I’m telling you - even when I first got signed it wasn’t about what new ideas and sounds can Alicia bring? It was more like, ‘How do we make her fit into this mold?’ and I think that’s what a lot of people experience in life.”

How many of you can relate to trying to fit into life's mold? I know there have been times when I certainly can. Thank you to a friend I met along life's journey, that shared this poem with me by Marianne Williamson.

Our Deepest Fear

By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small Does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, As children do. We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.

I hope this post encourages you to celebrate what makes you unique and share it with your community today!
